I am a rising senior at Arizona State University, where I am majoring in Astrophysics, with a minor in Data Science. This summer, I am excited to be a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at Caltech, working under the guidance of Dr. Joe Masiero on a project centered on Near-Earth Asteroids. Our goal is to characterize the thermophysical properties of these potentially hazardous objects by analyzing data collected from NEOWISE. I will also be helping them develop an algorithm to identify solar system objects for the upcoming Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.
My previous research experience includes working at a radio astronomy lab under the guidance of Dr. Judd Bowman, where I studied the diurnal effects of the ionosphere on radio waves. As I look forward to my senior year at ASU, I am excited to work under Dr. Nathaniel Butler on my senior thesis. I will be using data from the Colibri Telescope at the San Pedro Mártir Observatory in Mexico to detect high-redshift gamma-ray bursts.
In the future, I aim to pursue graduate studies in Astrophysics, with a focus on the computational and data analysis aspects of the field. I am passionate about leveraging data science to uncover the mysteries of the universe.
